QUADRATURA CIRCULI

Space-Time is the framework within which the world born of Chaos takes shape and within which its energies are released.

To quadrate the circle is to bring spirit into form—a universal act and fundamental principle found at the root of creation.

The circle is symbol of perfection of spirit.
The cross is symbol of physical world in its totality.

Quadratura circuli: the cross of matter in the circle of spirit...the incarnation of spirit on the cross of matter.

The complete sphere of cosmic space and human destiny. An image of psychic wholeness.

2 AXIS / 4 CARDINAL DIRECTIONS

Each axis embodies a common trait, opposite to or complementing the trait of the other axis.

axis of materialization (EAST-WEST) vs axis of potentiality (NORTH-SOUTH)
horizon of awareness (EAST-WEST) vs meridian of experience (NORTH-SOUTH)
...

The ends of each axis are polar opposites, functionally exclusive of each other.

life vs death (EAST vs WEST)
will vs fate (EAST vs WEST)
objectivity vs subjectivity (NORTH vs SOUTH)
conservation vs expansion (NORTH vs SOUTH)
...

Thus the 4 directions radiate from a center where the vertical Axis Mundi can be raised and stabilized.

2 MOVEMENTS

The downward and outward spiral represents movement toward differentiation and the creation of the physical universe. It moves clockwise.
Clockwise motion releases Sacred Power, moving from the archetypal realm to the realm of physical manifestation.
It represents the exteriorization of Spirit.

The upward and inward spiral represents movement toward integration and reunion with the Source. Its moves counterclockwise.
Counterclockwise motion interiorizes experience, moving from physical existence back to the archetypal realm and the world of spirit.
It represents the interiorization of Matter.

4 ELEMENTS

From an undifferentiated, primary energy (variously known as: Ether, Vital Force, Qi, ...), the full spectrum of existence is formed through the agency of 4 metaphysical processes or primal states of being: EARTH, WATER, AIR, FIRE.
Their interaction makes the world a verb more than a noun, a dance rather than a stance.
